About Pine Vista Resort

Pine Vista Resort began in 1945.  Walter and Alma Hamilton built 4 cottages and began renting as Hamilton Cottages. In 1968 their son Vernon and his new wife Bonnie purchased the cottages from them and eventually changed the name to Pine Vista Resort.

Over the years, Pine Vista has grown into a wonderful three-season destination, featuring 25 cottages and a seasonal campground. Today, it stands as one of Ontario’s most successful cottage resorts.

We are incredibly proud to have created a place where generations of guests and their families can return year after year to relax, reconnect, and enjoy their vacations. Most of all, we are honoured to be part of the countless lasting memories that have been made at Pine Vista over the years.

In 2016, Kevin and Julie Drain along with Darrell and Susan Drain became the new owners of Pine Vista.

Kevin and his wife, Julie, along with their daughter Holly and son Matt, are proud to be the new family behind Pine Vista.

A lifelong local businessman, Darrell Drain brings deep roots and strong ties to the community. His wife, Susan, is the daughter of Percy and Jean Little, who own Little’s Cottages next door to Pine Vista.

The Drain, Little, and Hamilton families are among the original residents of Gilchrist Bay and have shared a longstanding friendship as neighbours and members of the community. It feels especially fitting that these families, with such deep local roots and a history of friendship, are connected through the Pine Vista family business.

Thank you for your many years of support for Pine Vista Resort.
